RMA Questions list for LRR
Scope
The scope of this document is to provide a list of questions to be answered before submitted an RMA request to Actility for LoRa gateways products.
Be sure to answer ALL questions before submitting your request.
Questions List
Q001 - Gateway physically OK at first glance?
How to?: Visual checking for possible damages.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q002 - Gateway started and power supply OK?
How to?: Check power LED because the gateway is not necessarily always started (points to power supply issues)
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q003 - Gateway features physically OK
How to?: Check system LEDs such network activity
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q004 - Gateway continuously rebooting?
How to?: LEDs are on, then off for a few seconds then on again.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q005 - Gateway active in Network Manager?
How to?: Check in the Network Manager if the ID of this gateway can be found.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q006 - Gateway settings in Network Manager OK?
How to?: Check in the Network Manager if the setting for this gateway.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q007 - End to end communication OK?
How to?: In the Wireless Logger, check Uplink and/or downlink packets with a test device.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
At this stage, if all previous answers are 'No', you can bring back this gateway to the lab for further testings.
Q008 - Gateway steady?
How to?: (in lab) hands on the gateway, see if something indicates it is rebooting (LEDs) or terminal view with the serial cable.

Q009 - Ethernet configuration successful?
How to?: From a terminal session, ifconfig eth0. The display should a valid IP address.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q010 - cellular configuration successful?
How to?: (in lab)
- see if "sim" is detected properly with cat /tmp/sys_startup_status.json
- see if gateway is registered to some 2G/3G/4G base station qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --nas-get-serving-system
- see PIN status state /usr/bin/qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm1 --dms-uim-get-pin-status
- activate the associated interface ifup wwan1 and see if lease obtained
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q011 - GPS configuration OK?
How to?: see if output of cat /dev/nmea1 is properly refreshed every second and contains NMEA coordinates.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
Q012 - RF module OK?
How to?: see if DSPs are fine with the command cat /tmp/sys_startup_status.json.
Answer?: Yes - No - NA
At this stage, if all previous answers are 'No', you must flash the gateway and restart this question list.
If you still get a big fail after reflashing, then you can submit an RMA.
